Our unique Heritage Inns trail will take you over forgotten mining routes and stock roads, passing thru magnificent Central Otago scenery. This region known for its lakes, mountain ranges and rugged valleys, vineyards, adventure actiivities, sites of the Lord of the Rings filming and rustic townships was once the region of goldmining fever. Now quaint and sleepy villages that once were roaring gold towns offer charming inns to while away the time in listening to stories told by locals. Together we will enjoy a drink and /or meal in a heritage inn and a stay in old worldly hotels all with their own special stories and qualities. Central Otago is especially delightful in late March and Autumn with it's autumn colours however photographers can enjoy this area all year round thanks to the ever changing moods and scenery on our journey from Queenstown via Danseys Pass to Wanaka, Cardrona and finishing in Queenstown.
